Technical Product Owner (m/f) - FinTech Application

Our IT-Team focuses on steadily improving our smava ecosystem of personal credit solutions. We continuously develop our online loan comparison platform and implement new product features. The whole application system consists of more than 50 individual services. In the process of achieving strategic goals, we are also receiving support from the development teams located abroad. That’s why we are currently looking for a real experienced Technical Product Owner (m/f) who will direct internal and external stakeholders towards the successful accomplishment of the roadmap and bring nearshore development teams to the next level.

Our backend tech stack you will work with:

  • Java 8
  • Spring framework  (DI, Security, Scheduling, Tx, Spring REST, Spring WS)
  • Spring Cloud Netflix (e. g. Eureka, Ribbon)
  • Messaging JMS / AMQP
  • Maven
  • PostgreSQL, Dynamo DB, Redis
  • Hybrid Cloud Technologies

Your daily business:

  • Working together with the Product Owner to ensure a cohesive documentation
  • Support Product Managers in defining crispy User Stories translating business requirements into technical implementation specifications
  • Translate Product backlog and priorities into Engineering backlog
  • Capture project requirements for DevOps & Architecture involving  the team if  needed
  • Coordinate with other Development areas if needed (in particular other TPOs)
  • Support the Project QA to define the Test plan for the Sprint, definition of stress or performance tests
  • Warrant for code quality, refactoring needs, prototyping & identify new technologies
  • Accountable for execution, once the Sprint gets committed
  • Inform the team about high level technical decisions and make sure these are followed
  • Make sure that Development is aligned with Architectural guidelines and conventions

To get things done you will need:

  • Strong leadership mindset with proven experience of being a Team Lead and/or a Project manager of nearshore/offshore teams for at least four years
  • At least six years of working experience with Java Spring framework (some of your projects are still in production)
  • Know-how of migrating monolithic applications into microservices and deploying them into Cloud
  • Experience of working in Agile Environment
  • Fluent English

Not necessarily needed, but also helpful:

  • Working experiences with Continuous Integration (CI) & Continuous Development (CD)
  • NoSQL data management expertise
  • Expertise in dealing with distributed streaming platforms like e.g. Apache Kafka
  • Ability to speak Russian, Ukrainian or Polish will be considered as a plus
